The Publication of the Chinese National Standard “Technical Code for Infra-redSimultaneous Interpretation System”
2010-07-25

A new Chinese standard “Technical Code For Infra-red Simultaneous Interpretation System” GB 50524-2010 has been published recently by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China (MOHURD) and by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) on May 31st, 2010. It will go into effect on December 1st, 2010. The standard was compiled and edited mainly by the Research Institute of TV and Electro-Acoustics and by Shenzhen TAIDEN Industrial Co., LTD.

The standard GB 50524-2010 includes the use of both digital and analog IR simultaneous interpretation systems with subcarriers in the primary frequency band from 2 MHz to 6 MHz (= BAND IV). The secondary frequency band from 45 kHz to 1 MHz (= BAND II) will now fall into disuse due to its susceptibility to be interfered by parasitic frequencies originated by high frequency lighting such as Compact Fluorescent Lamps. Parasitic interferences deteriorate the signal to noise ratio as well reduce the reception distance.

IR simultaneous interpretation systems working in BAND IV operate sub-carriers with frequencies above 2 MHz, escaping therefore interferences from high frequency lighting. Besides, IR simultaneous interpretation systems in BAND IV offer high quality and high fidelity of sound.
