The second round of China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue (SED) was held in Beijing from May 24 to 25, 2010.
15-18 U.S. cabinet officials and agency heads participated making it one of the largest U.S. delegations to travel to a foreign country. Over 200 senior U.S. officials arrived in Beijing for the meeting and a large delegation from China also participated. With 50 representatives from more than 40 departments of both countries, the second round of SED became historically the largest Dialogue between China and the USA as well as set a precedent in the history of international relations.
During the dialogue, both sides conducted in-depth discussions and expanded consensuses on topics of common concern such as bilateral relationship between China and USA, boosting the strong, sustained and balanced growth of world economy, resisting protectionism and prompting financial reform. The Strategic Dialogue produced 26 specific outcomes and the Economic Dialogue concluded five important concerns.
