The 9th meeting of the CIVEX Commission was held on June 6-7 2011 in the Holiday Inn in the capital Nicosia of EU member Cyprus. The CIVEX Commission is one the six commissions of the European Union and is a Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External affairs.
During the meeting, Europe's ongoing efforts to reduce bureaucracy and the role of local and regional authorities in fostering European citizenship were at the centre of the discussions, with a seminar on The role of local and regional authorities in fostering European citizenship.
In total 10 languages including English, French, Polish, Greek, etc. were spoken for the simultaneous interpretation. One quadruple interpreter booth as well as several triple interpreter booths were successfully operated. The equipment consisted of 31 TAIDEN HCS-4385K2/20 fully digital conference system interpreter units and TAIDEN digital IR receivers for about 200 seats. After the perfect performance for the 4th ENVE of EU Committee in 2010, TAIDEN served for the second time the EU Committee of the Regions meeting by providing fully digital conference system and digital IR language distribution system. The meeting ended successfully. Both the perfect performance of the equipment and the service by the TAIDEN partner in Cyprus impressed the EU interpreters and organizers.
